2019 Fitting Out Dinner & AGM Report

On 23 March 2019, over 5o members, family, friends, and representatives from X-Yachts GB&I gathered at the historic Mary Rose exhibition in Portsmouth for our annual AGM and fitting out dinner.  A number of members arrived early so they could explore other exhibits at the naval dockyards, e.g. HMS Warrior.  We kicked off with coffee allowing a good opportunity to mingle and chat with other members, new and old.  After a short AGM at which we discussed ideas for taking the XYOA forwards, we were all treated to a private viewing of the whole Mary Rose exhibition with a number of expert guides on hand to talk to us about the various exhibits.

Dinner took place on a viewing balcony overlooking the remains of the hull of the Mary Rose.  She was built in 1510 and spent over 400 years on the bottom of the Solent before being raised in 1982.  She provided quite an exceptional backdrop for a special dinner, and has given the committee a bit of a head ache on how to better that for next years event.
