Cowes Week X4.3 Baby X Success

The 2019 regatta will be remembered as one of the more windy and hardcore Cowes Week's.  With a roll of unseasonably deep low pressures lined up during the week it created some full on racing conditions.  In a change from previous years the Fastnet Race started a week before Cowes Week which resulted in slightly fewer participants in the IRC classes. There were other changes which made a lot of sense, most notably the regatta finished on Friday and not Saturday.  The final Saturday has now become the Cowes Town regatta; this allows for prize giving to take play before the fireworks on Friday night and it proved popular.

Most notably the courses were genuine courses and only on Thursday was there a long processional leg which is a huge improvement from the old days of a fetch followed by a fetch.

XYOA members Anthony and Charlie Esse on board Baby X again won the ISC Cruiser Division A class in their X4.3
